Yes, what do you want for Christmas? It's a question asked by parents of their children, on what they might like to receive as Christmas gifts. It was there in my own childhood, as my mom really got into the whole Christmas gift thing. I would be hard-pressed to remember a single specific gift that I received back then. But I remember mom's love and care for our family. 

Perhaps you have heard that “You become what you focus on.” 

Notice in that phrase, the word “you” is used twice. Are “you” focused on “you?” 

In my lifetime, there has been a massive growth of focusing our attention on ourselves. Our "Selfs." You hear that people are searching for themselves. Self-awareness. Self-help. You need to find yourself. You need to believe in yourself. Even that “you need to forgive yourself.” 

Self! Self!! SELF!!!

Maybe that's the problem in all this “self” stuff. Maybe we need to get away from focusing on our “self,” and focus on God and others. 

If we could truly “help ourselves,” or “forgive ourselves,” then we wouldn't need Jesus or God's love, would we?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” We celebrate the birth of Jesus, as God reached into the world that He had created, to help mankind be all that He created us for, to be “made in His image,” to be and become sons of the most high God.

The "Christmas spirit" is about giving, not “getting.” As Paul quoted our Lord Jesus, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20.35

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12.1-2

Embrace those you love, whether near or far, and let them know how much you love them!

Know that God loves you more than you can ever fully know! He cares for you!

New American Prophet, the website for insight, offers to you and your family a very, very Merry Christmas this year, 2025. This Christmas, let us pray for the peace of Jerusalem, share the hope of Christ with a hurting world, and stand boldly against the darkness that threatens God's chosen people.  

We must as a nation isolate and even detain the enemies within, and they are legion. Even the editor of the CFR journal Foreign Affairs says we are returning to the era of “Total War.”  

In my last three articles, I wished you a Merry Christmas. Now I wish you a Happy New Year. Many of you will eat pizza and bits of pizza this New Year’s. So, I thought I’d replace pieces with pizzas. Let’s start with a question: What can make a new year, a new year? How can you look at life differently and start anew? Here’s an example of three ways to see the same thing.  

Let’s put the political stuff on hold for the next couple of weeks at least, so we can focus on the birth of the One who transcends all of our worldly concerns, the only One who can truly bring peace and good will to this world. Merry Christmas!  

I think President Trump is correct about Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) and the Rob Reiner murders. Reiner was full of hate for Trump but full of misplaced “love” for his 32-year-old killer son. Reiner could not face up to the truth about his son but concocted lies about Trump’s mental state. Nick Reiner’s victims could have included the Obamas. They were scheduled to meet with Rob and Michele Reiner the night of their murders.  

In this first term, President Donald Trump expressed a desire for our troops to leave Syria. Now, several years later, after another “ambush” attack on U.S. troops, it is time for our military to finally come home.
